Wave Hill agate cab ~
Offered here is a very special cab of Wave Hill agate, from Australia's Northern Territory. It's not often that a 'new' material becomes an instant favorite of mine, but this exceptional agate won my heart straight away. Everyone who sees it is impressed! When Terry Maple spied these agates at this year's Tucson show, he bought the entire lot! Bless his heart for sending some fine little nodules home for me to enjoy! Please take a good look at the details in this stone and you'll see why I'm so excited about offering cabs cut from this world class agate. It has a face full of bands, orbs and bullseyes in shades of brownish-burgundy, tan, maroon and gray, including one dot of bright yellow, and some others in white that each have what appears to be a tiny dendrite at their centers. Wonderful contrast in this beautifully figured gem, and it's a bargain at under $2 per carat. This cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5mm, a curvy designer shape, with a great glassy polish both front and back.
