Wave Hill agate cab ~
Offered here is a cab of Wave Hill agate, from Australia's Northern Territory. It's not often that a 'new' material becomes an instant favorite of mine, but this exceptional agate won my heart straight away. Everyone who sees it is impressed! When Terry Maple spied these agates at this year's Tucson show, he bought the entire lot! Bless his heart for sending some fine little nodules home for me to enjoy! Please take a good look at the wild pattern in this stone and you'll see why I'm so excited about this world class agate. It has lovely pink and maroon orbs as inticate as those found in ocean jasper, and contrasting fortification banding against a background the color of old bone. And how about that big yellow bullseye? Yes indeedy, this new agate material continues to amaze me with all its surprising variations. Believe me when I say there will be plenty of these appealing little beauties in my own personal collection, and in my Christmas jewelry too, for sure. The uniqueness of each Wave Hill agate makes it a lapidary's fantasy, a collector's MUST HAVE, and I have no doubt it'll be a jewelry designer's best friend. This gorgeous gem is a bargain at under $2 per carat. It's YUMMY, and then some! It has a high rounded dome of 8+mm, a shape you'll have fun with, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
