Turquoise ~
Offered here is a cabochon of turquoise, probably from Nevada, if I had to hazard a guess. It features intense shades of turquoise-blue coloration, along with patches of tan, dark brown and black matrix. No doubt the material has been stabilized by a hardening process, as is most modern turquoise, but I don't believe it has been subjected to artificial coloring of any kind. It cut like a dream, and will wear wonderfully, without turning green over the years. The cab has a low but well rounded dome, a long designer 'almond' shape, and a slick glossy polish both front and back.
