Wave Hill agate cab ~
Offered here is a very special cab of Wave Hill agate, from Australia's Northern Territory. It's not often that a 'new' material becomes an instant favorite of mine, but this exceptional agate won my heart straight away. Everyone who sees it is impressed! When Terry Maple spied these agates at this year's Tucson show, he bought the entire lot! Bless his heart for sending some fine little nodules home for me to enjoy! Please take a good look at the details in this stone and you'll see why I'm so excited about this world class agate. It has very detailed full face pattern in deep burgundy, surrounded by intricate bands of pastel pinks both light and dark, including some neat orbs around the edges, one of which is white. Wonderful contrast here folks, and rest assured any tiny hairlines are totally healed, blending well with the pattern. This beautiful banded gem is a bargain at under $2 per carat. This cab has a low but nicely rounded dome, a curvy designer shape, with a great glassy polish both front and back.
