Wave Hill agate cab ~
Offered here is a gorgeous cab of Wave Hill agate, from Australia's Northern Territory. It's not often that a 'new' material becomes an instant favorite of mine, but this exceptional agate won my heart straight away. Everyone who sees it is impressed! When Terry Maple spied these agates at this year's Tucson show, he bought the entire lot! Bless his heart for sending some fine little nodules home for me to enjoy! Please take a good look at the details in this stone and you'll see why I'm so excited about this world class agate. It has vividly contrasting fortification banding in pink and muted coral peach, along with some neat outlined orbs. The central core is a translucent white-lined pool, with an odd floater suspended in its center. Yes indeedy, this delightful agate has all the right stuff. The uniqueness of each Wave Hill agate makes it a lapidary's fantasy, a collector's MUST HAVE, and I have no doubt it'll be a jewelry designer's best friend. This beautifully banded gem is a bargain at $2 per carat. It's YUMMY, and then some! This cab has a low but nicely rounded dome of about 5mm, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
