Wave Hill agate cab ~
Offered here is a very special cab of Wave Hill agate, from Australia's Northern Territory. It's not often that a 'new' material becomes an instant favorite of mine, but this exceptional agate won my heart straight away. Everyone who sees it is impressed! When Terry Maple spied these agates at this year's Tucson show, he bought the entire lot! Bless his heart for sending some fine little nodules home for me to enjoy! Please take a good look at the details in this example and you'll see why I'm so excited. It's got excellent banding, terrific contrast, and neat little orbs in the center and around the edges. Simply fascinating! The uniqueness of each Wave Hill agate makes it a lapidary's fantasy, a collector's MUST HAVE, and I have no doubt it'll be a jewelry designer's best friend. This cab has a low but well rounded dome of about 4.5mm, with a great glassy polish both front and back.
