Rhodochrosite cab ~
Offered here is a large deluxe cabochon of rhodochrosite, from Catamarca, Argentina. Not easy to come by like it once was, last I heard, the price of rough from this classic location is strictly controlled by the Argentinian goverment. This attractive cab features various shades of rose and pink in a wildly intricate spiky zig-zag pattern, with a great degree of crystalline gleam. Odd little flecks of grayish marcasite too. The stone has a high rounded dome of just shy of 7mm, and a glossy polish both front and back. This beauty is a real steal at well under a dollar per carat!
