Dendritic jasper cab ~
Here is a fine cabochon of sage jasper, from Wyoming. This fancy example has extra nice dendrites that resemble jet black trees and bushes, contrasting wonderfully against a rich earthy brown background. The 'foliage' in this scenic stone gets smaller and smaller toward one end, giving an incredible illusion of distance and depth. Just in case, I'd like to mention that there are no cracks or fractures present, though there are some odd metallic threads taking part in the unique pattern. The cab has a well rounded dome of 5mm, a designer 'catseye' shape, and a fine glossy polish both front and back.
