Dinosaur Bone cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of fossilized dinosaur bone, from Utah. This highly silicated material is many millions of years old, a marvelous example of the natural preservation of our earth's ancient, extinct 'thunder lizards'. Over millennia, the cells in this fossil bone have been replaced with yellow and gray agate, some of which have cores of fiery crimson, like tiny fortified thundereggs. Some of the actual cell walls are still visible, now jet black, forever frozen in time. The cab has a well rounded dome of nearly 5mm, and an excellent glassy polish both front and back.
