Included quartz cab ~
Here is a designer cabochon of included quartz, from Brazil. I purchased the rough for this unusual cab as tourmalated quartz, but I'm not not 100% sure that's what it is... The tangled forest of dark green needles (with a few needles of deep golden brown) might possibly be chlorite or epidote, or they could be something else entirely. Whatever the name, this stone is outstanding, to say the least. Except for some tiny areas of subtly sparkling 'fairy frost', the quartz is quite clear, as illustrated by the backlit photo. It has a versatile designer shape, a high rounded dome of 6mm, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
