Carnival agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon cut from a relatively new agate from Mexico, dubbed carnival agate. I think it's a more a mixture of jasper and agate with quartz, but otherwise the name is quite appropriate. Its festive pattern is a colorful blend of coral/red, pink, yellow and orange, and the grayish areas are actually filled with quartz that has a bit of sparkle. Some of the pink patches contain
tiny dots that are similar to those found in poppy jasper, adding much appeal. Try some, I think you'll like it! The stone has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a long ovoid shape, and a great polish both front and back.
