Sonora plume agate cab ~
Offered here is a choice collector's cabochon of Sonora plume agate, from Mexico. This seldom seen old-time material is certainly outrageous stuff! And this stone is a primo example, chock full of brilliant blood red plumage, with intriguing areas of pink agate peeking through between, covering the surface of the plumes beneath the surface. There are hints of green here and there within the agate too. I do need to mention that there are two teensy tiny voids at the sides toward the tip, but nothing overly distracting in a stone of this distinction. It's a substantial cab with a well rounded dome of 6mm, a designer 'almond' shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
