Silicon ~
Offered here is a cabochon of silicon, something you certainly don't see too often, cabbed or otherwise. This material is laboratory-grown in computerized ovens, in a lengthy process of great expense, and it's the same silicon used in computer chips. Without it, you wouldn't be seeing this webpage! I like it alot, but it certainly was a pain to photograph; the stuff's so unbelievably reflective, it was picking up everything in the room, me and the camera included! Just like a fun-house mirror, you can see yourself looking back out of this cab. It does resemble hematite, but when I put them side by side, this silicon is lighter in color, and in weight too. Ya gotta have a cab of this amazing space age material, just for drill! This one has a very high rounded dome, a bold designer shape, and a mirror-like polish both front and back.
