Trent agate cab ~
Offered here is a VERY unusual cabochon of Trent agate, hailing only from one small dig near the town of Trent, Oregon. This distinctive material is very rare, completely mined out long ago, prized for its amazing figure. This agate is said to contain stibnite and realgar, which are rare minerals in their own right, but never before have I seen any without the usual orange and black colors. (Does that make it an albino version?? heh) Sure cuts an interesting cab, I must say, thanks Terry!! This unique stone does contain the typically intricate sagenitic bursts, and it is appealingly translucent with great depth. I must mention that the surface has a slight bit of texture, but that's easily overlooked in a stone so collectible. Please click to enlarge all the pics to their full size for a good look. The cab has a low but rounded dome, a designer shape, polished both front and back.
Size: 46x26mm
Weight: approximately 37 carats
